Lakeland is a city in central Florida in Polk County, approximately 60 miles southwest of downtown Orlando's central business district. As of the 2008 census estimate, the population of Lakeland was approximately 93,500 people. The city of Lakeland offers 38 different lakes, including Lake Parker, the largest of the lakes at more than 2,550 acres.
