Wanderlust World Wanderlust World Murdo, a small rural town in central South Dakota, is an out-of-the-way destination, but visitors can find plenty to do in the area. A short 49-mile drive will end at Minutemen Missile National Historic Site and Badlands National Park. Drive 55 miles to nearby Pierre, and there are two state parks; Oahe Downstream Recreation Area and LaFramboise Island Nature Area. These attractions offer fishing, hiking and sightseeing. Though it is small, Murdo has several hotels, motels and inns for visitors.
