The Gujarati people are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group from the northwestern state of Gujarat in India. Gujaratis speak their own language, and this region of India is well-known for its filmmaking industry. Many Gujaratis are vegetarian, and Gujarat is flush with fresh fruits and vegetables. Several skin care treatments practiced by both the men and women of Gujarat are based on this bounty of fresh produce. Other fresh natural ingredients, such as honey, milk, yogurt and nuts also feature prominently in Gujarati skin care routines.
Skin that is too dry feels uncomfortable and is likely to develop wrinkles. You can rub coconut oil into dry skin instead of using a chemical based lotion. You need to do this every day for several weeks before you can expect long-term results. Instead of using a chemical cleanser, try washing your face with a mixture of cucumber and milk. Cucumber has natural cleansing properties and will not irritate your skin. For combination skin, dab buttermilk all over your face for twenty minutes. This will soak up oil without drying you out. To create a hydrating mask for your dry skin, mix honey, lemon juice and olive oil. Apply this mix to your face and let it rest for 15 minutes before rinsing. Never apply pure lemon juice to dry skin though.
Dab carrot juice on your face daily to treat blemishes from oily skin. For a mask to treat oily skin, mix one-third cup of cocoa, one-third cup of cold cream, one-third cup of ripe papaya, one-quarter cup of honey, and three teaspoons of oatmeal powder. Apply this mixture liberally to your skin and let it rest for 15 minutes. Rinse your face with lukewarm water. For a cleansing and polishing mask, mix grapes, lemon and egg whites. Apply this mix to your face and let it dry for 15 minutes. After it is dry, gently rub the mixture into your skin and then rinse it off with warm water.
Wash your face with a mixture of honey and milk instead of a chemical cleanser. Honey soothes irritated skin, and this mix will keep your face moisturized. If your skin is sun-damaged, apply a mask made of egg whites and honey for 10 minutes. If your skin is irritated, you can soothe it with a mask made of mint and almonds. Grind your mint leaves and olives into a powder, and add drops of water until a paste forms. Apply this paste to your face and allow it to dry completely before washing it off with warm water. People of all ages should add half a cup of honey and half a cup of almond oil to their bath water to preserve soft and smooth skin.
