Biltmore is a 19th-century estate outside of Asheville, North Carolina, that was originally constructed by George Vanderbilt as a country getaway. At 175,000 square feet, it's the largest home in the United States and is a national historic landmark. There is one luxury hotel on the grounds of Biltmore and several other hotels just a short drive away.
This four-star hotel is the only lodging on the 8,000-acre Biltmore Estate. The decor of the rooms is inspired by turn-of-the-century English and French manor houses. Amenities include a fitness room, outdoor pool and hot tub, library and spa. Golf courses, horseback riding and fly fishing are all just a few minutes away. An on-site dining room offers traditional Southern fare, with a number of other restaurants within walking distance. Guests can reserve standard rooms, suites or even an entire cottage.
