Moody Gardens is located in Galveston, a small island off the Texas coast. Moody Gardens consists of three large pyramids, a lagoon with paddle boats and a neighboring hotel with spa. It is a great family vacation destination with activities for the whole family.

      Visit the Aquarium Pyramid with its one-million-gallon tank, under which you can walk through an acrylic underwater tunnel. There is also a hands-on tidal pool to feel intriguing sea creatures such as stingrays, horseshoe crabs and small sharks.

      Make your way through the Rainforest Pyramid with its balmy atmosphere and warm mist, Amazonian fish, birds, flowers and other creatures. Guides and volunteers will answer any questions or point out special features and animals.

      Plan your schedule to see several of the 3-D IMAX films. Glasses are provided, and the sound system provides an incredibly realistic performance.

      Be prepared for a surprise with the 4-D theater. There you will literally see, hear, feel and smell the film as you watch!

      Strap into a platform for Ridefilms! Feel deep in the action as the theater-seat platform moves with surrounding screen to provide a unique film experience.

      Enjoy a leisurely trip around Offats Bayou in the authentic Colonel Paddlewheel Boat. Snacks and souvenirs are available on board.

      See what's new in the constantly changing Discovery Museum Pyramid, which brings you new and different exhibits to make each visit to Moody Gardens unique. Past exhibits have included an interactive music experience for children and Titanic artifacts. The Dinosaurs Alive animatronic dinosaurs have also been displayed at Moody Gardens in the past.

      Bring your swimsuits and sunscreen for a visit to Palm Beach, Moody Garden's white beach with fresh water waterfalls and lagoons. There is also a water park area with dump buckets, spray arches and fountains to add to the family water fun.

      Seek out the Garden Restaurant, located in the Rainforest Pyramid. It serves a buffet lunch or menu fare such as burgers and fries, pizza, salads and sandwiches. There is deck seating that overlooks Offats Bayou, weather permitting.

      Looking for lighter fare? The Discovery Pyramid and Rainforest Pyramids both offer snacks such as nachos, pretzels, sodas and hot dogs in their concession stands. A must-try is the Bavarian Nuts with their deep vanilla scent and flavor or the Dippin' Dots ice cream from their stands, also in the Rainforest Pyramid.

      Check into the on-site dining option in the basement floor of the Aquarium Pyramid. A food-court-style concession area offers Mexican, Italian and American food choices.
