The town of Schwenningen is part of the city of Villingen-Schwenningen in southwest Germany. The two towns have been one political entity since 1971. It is located in the eastern part of the Black Forest and is large enough to have two hotels in the city limits and several more within 10 miles.

The Central Hotel boasts that it's in the heart of Villingen-Schwenningen and that all the main tourist attractions of the town (in addition to the railway station) are in the immediate vicinity, including Muslenplatz, a large street with many shops. Each of the hotel's 60 rooms has free high-speed Internet access and a flat-screen TV, among other amenities. The hotel also has a bar and offers a buffet breakfast. As of August 2010, room rates vary from 71 euros for a business category single to 94 euros for a first-class double room including a large sofa. While not in Villingen-Schwenningen proper, the TipTop Hotel Hirt is only a few miles away and has some unique features. As of August 2010, it's less expensive than the Central Hotel, with single rooms as low as 45 euros per night. In the summer months, the hotel invites guests to make use of its beer garden. It also has two bowling alleys and is half a kilometer from the Deisslingen railway stations.
