Ocean Grove is a seaside town on the Jersey Shore and has been a vacation destination for families since the late 1860s. Ocean Grove calls itself the "Jewel of the Jersey Shore" and is home to dozens of restaurants, boutiques and miles of boardwalk. According to its website, Ocean Grove has the nation's highest concentration of Victorian architecture and visitors can stay in one of the many Victorian-era inns.

In the 1870s, The Shawmont Hotel was known as "The Ocean Avenue House." Today the hotel is listed in the National Register of historical sites and touts itself as one of the "best-kept secrets on the Jersey Shore." Each room in the Shawmont comes with Dish Network television, heating and air conditioning, and efficiency-sized oceanfront rooms also feature small refrigerators. The Shawmont Hotel does not allow pets or smoking. As of August 2010, the hotel serves continental breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. daily during the in-season and only on weekends during the off-season.

The Quaker Inn is in the heart of downtown and the Ocean Grove National Historic District. The hotel is just two blocks from the ocean, and most of the rooms come with air conditioning, cable television and private bathrooms. Some rooms also feature a microwave and small refrigerator. The Quaker Inn's two lobbies both have cable television, a piano and library, and every room in the hotel comes with its own open porch. The Quaker Inn has two innkeepers in the winter and summer.
