Galena is a town in the northwestern corner of Illinois, slightly inland from the Mississippi River. Named by Forbes Traveler as one of the 10 prettiest towns in America, Galena was the home of Ulysses S. Grant and hosts various events, such as balloon and music festivals. The TierraLinda, a bed and breakfast establishment, allows dogs to sleep in rooms with their owners for a fee of $20 per dog, per night. TierraLinda also provides a dog-sitting service. Located on 11 acres of a former farm, TierraLinda has its own beach and pond on a forested property. Rooms come with private bathrooms that have combined showers and bathtubs. Bonfires are held on the grounds, weather permitting, and TierraLinda salsa and chips are available upon request. The hotel is located five miles south of Galena.
