Hallstadtt is an Austrian town surrounded by mountains and a large lake which is known to locals as the Hallstättersee. In 1997, it earned the distinction of becoming a "World Cultural and Natural Heritage" site. The town was included on the UNESCO list of special sites because it has one of the oldest salt mines in the entire world. Located in the southern part of Hallstatt, the Grüner Anger is a family-owned inn belonging to the Sulzbachers. It is walking distance from the town center, the lake and the railway tracks that lead to the town’s historic salt mines. Every room comes with a bathroom, satellite television, telephone, and some of the rooms have balconies.
