Tompkinsville, Kentucky is a town in Monroe County with a population of less than 3,000. It is named for U.S. Vice President Daniel D. Tompkins. Local attractions include the Mill Creek park and the historic Mulkey meeting house. In addition, Tompkinsville hosts the annual county fair every June, as well as an annual Watermelon Fest in September.
