Lee is a small city in western Massachusetts with a population of about 2,000. Despite its small size, Lee offers cultural activities such as Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, a large dance festival in August, and the Normal Rockwell Museum. Guests who want to travel with their pets may have a hard time finding accommodations in Lee, where only one hotel accepts pets. The Red Lion Inn is 10 minutes outside Lee and welcomes pets with a treat when they arrive. The inn charges $40 for pets, which are allowed only in select rooms, so it is important to book ahead. Dogs must be leashed at all times, and animals must be in a crate or kennel when they are in the room alone. The hotel has a few crates available for guests to use. Animals cannot make excessive noise and disturb neighbors. Dogs that are left unattended and annoy other guests may be removed from the room by staff. Pittsfield's Crowne Plaza is located 12 miles north of Lee. The hotel charge $50 a visit for each pet and provides a list of locations to take your dog for a walk. There is no limit on the pet size. The hotel offers 179 rooms, which have Wi-Fi access. Some rooms are poolside, and a whirlpool, sauna, restaurant and pub are also on site. One West Restaurant & Lounge serves regional dishes and is open until midnight every day. The Underground Pub has open mic, comedy club and sports nights. Local bands play at the club on Saturdays.
