Minneapolis' Historic Orpheum Theater first opened its doors on October 16, 1921, and was originally named the Hennepin Theater. Hennepin Avenue is dubbed the Hennepin Theater District, and the Orpheum is one of its four historic theaters. The theater is now surrounded by numerous restaurants, dishing up flavors from around the world.
Solera is located just a couple of doors down from the Orpheum Theater. Its vibrant decor and Spanish ambiance perfectly complement the Spanish-inspired flavors found in the Tapas (small plates) menu. It was voted one of the World's Top 10 New Restaurants by Food and Wine Magazine. Solera is open seven days a week for dinner and late happy hour. Palomino Restaurant and Bar, which offers American cuisine, is located less than a block from the Orpheum Theater. The restaurant serves dinner nightly and lunch everyday except Sundays. It doesn't close between lunch or dinner, so you can grab a late lunch or early dinner before a show, or stop by for a bit and a drink after. Happy hour specials are also offered all day from Sunday through Thursday. Dinner entrees include pizza, pasta, seafood, steaks, chops and chicken dishes.

Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery is located across the street from the Orpheum Theater. It's a good option for people who want a casual restaurant experience, since it specializes in pub-style food: burgers, pizzas, wings, salads and steaks. Rock Bottom also makes several different beers, but you can order other drinks as well, like wine or cocktails. It's open daily for lunch and dinner beginning at 11 a.m. The bar stays open until midnight on Sunday, 1 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, so you can grab a late night drink and snack after your show.
