Patong is found on the west coast of Phucket, which is Thailand's largest island. It is the main tourist resort in Phucket and is famous for its nightlife as well as the 2 mile long beach which runs the length of the west side of Patong. The area of Patong was hit by a tsunami in 2004, causing great devastation.
