AARP Discounts on Hotels

The American Association of Retired Persons, now known as AARP, is a nonprofit organization aimed at helping people aged 50 and older. AARP acts as both an advocate for people over the age of 50 and is also a member organization that offers benefits and discounts, including discounts on travel and hotel stays.     • Best Western hotels offer AARP members-and guests over the age of 55 - a 20 percent discount at all locations in the United States and Canada, as well as some of its international properties. Additionally, some Best Western hotels also offer extra perks to AARP members, such as early check-in and later check-out times, room upgrades free of charge and/or complimentary continental breakfast. According to the company website these perks are not available at all locations and are subject to availability. Guests must present their AARP membership cards at check-in to receive the discount.     Choice Hotels International

    • Choice Hotels International is a global company that owns hotel properties including Econolodge, Rodeway Inn, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Clarion Mainstay Suites and more. AARP members are eligible to receive up to a 10 percent discount at Choice Hotel properties in the United States. Additionally, most Choice Hotel properties offer AARP members free local phone calls and complimentary continental breakfasts.
      The AARP membership discount may not be combined with any other discounts or offers, and it may not be available at every Choice Hotel property. Guests may be asked to provide their membership card upon check in to receive the discount. (Reference 3)

    Wyndham Hotels and Resorts

    • Wyndham Hotels and Resorts owns multiple international hotel properties, including Ramada, Days Inn, Super 8, Baymont, Howard Johnson and Wyndham Hotels. AARP members are eligible to receive a discounted rate of a minimum of 10 percent off the hotel's best available rate at all participating properties. AARP members may also elect to join the Wyndham Hotels reward program, Wyndham ByRequest, which entitles all guests to perks such as free high-speed internet, free local and long distance phone calls and frequent flyer miles for staying at Wyndham properties.     Starwood Hotels & Resorts

    • Starwood Hotels and Resorts is an international company which owns more than 900 hotel properties around the world, including the Le Meridien, W Hotels, Westin, Element, Sheraton and St. Regis brands. AARP members-as well as guests more than 50 years of age-may be eligible for discounts between 5 and 25 percent off a hotel's best available rate. Guests may also elect to join the Starwood Preferred Guest program and receive complimentary upgrades, late checkout and other perks.
