Ocean City, Maryland, is a small resort town with hot summers and temperate winters. Vacationing there during the summer does not have to be expensive; there are a number of hotels available for between $50 and $150 per night. This article details some of those inexpensive hotels.
The Atlantic Oceanfront Inn offers both efficiencies and suites, all of which are right on the beach. Every room, regardless of price has at least a side view of the ocean, and many rooms have a direct view of it.
The ocean view efficiencies are the cheapest option. They have a side view of the ocean and are available with either two queen beds or one king bed. Rooms are fully equipped with a full-size refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, oven, stove, toaster and silverware.
Ocean view efficiencies' nightly rates depend on the night. Weeknights toward the beginning and end of the season are the cheapest, at $39 and $49 respectively, as of 2010. They are the most expensive around the fourth of July, with weeknights and weekends both costing $219.
The Atlantic Oceanfront Inn provides amenities to all guests. These include wireless Internet, daily maid service, book and board game loan and an outdoor pool.

The Oceanic Motel is right on the ocean. It has a wide variety of rooms from cheap patio rooms to kitchen-equipped efficiencies like the Atlantic Oceanfront Inn.
Patio rooms cost $34 per night for a weeknight at the beginning of the season on May 20 and $59 on the weekend, as of 2010. During busy July, these prices respectively rise to $104 and $124, then drop to a low of $79 and $79 in late September.
The Oceanic Motel offers free tea, coffee, fresh fruit and newspapers every morning, a private beach, and a color television in every room. It does not currently provide wireless Internet.

The Flamingo Motel, like the Oceanfront, is located on Ocean City's inlet, which is across a short footbridge from the town itself. It is still on the beach, and within walking distance of many bars and restaurants.
The Flamingo Motel's rates follow the same pattern as the other two mentioned here: very inexpensive in early April, at $39 on the weekdays and $49 on the weekends, as of 2010. These prices steadily rise until their peak of $139 and $159 between the July 11 and August 21 then decline to $49 and $89 in October.
Every room comes with free wireless Internet in every room, cable TV with HBO, microwave, and refrigerator. There is free coffee in the office, and two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor.
