All-inclusive resorts have gained popularity in Mexico, but a new breed is beginning to emerge and stand out above the rest. Some of the perks include fine dining by renowned chefs, language classes, water and land sports and private tennis lessons. Not all resorts offer the same amenities in their all-inclusive packages and finding the right resort can mean deciding what you want and what you don't want to be included in your vacation.
Located on the Mayan Riviera, Royal Hideaway Playacar was the first all-inclusive adults-only resort to receive the AAA five-diamond award. The all-inclusive resort boasts a restaurant run by Chef Sergi Arola, who formerly ran Madrid's famed La Broche. In addition to the all-inclusive food and beverage service, the resort offers many other included amenities such as Spanish lessons and scuba classes. The hotel also offers a piano bar, six restaurants, tennis courts, six pools, daily activities and evening entertainment. For an additional fee, guests can purchase excursions, tennis lessons, golf packages and motorized water sports. Spa services, such as massages and facials, are offered in the full-service spa for an additional fee as well.

Another adults-only all-inclusive five-star resort, Excellence Playa Mujeres, located on the Gulf of Mexico, offers a similar package. Situated north of Cancun, the Playa Mujeres offers eight restaurants and 11 bars, and is located in downtown Cancun. This resort specifically caters to couples. An a la carte option enhances the buffet options, giving guests more flexibility in meals. In addition, they offer room service. The resort boasts seven swimming pools and four Jacuzzis. There is a tennis court on site and the tennis clinics are included in the all-inclusive package. If tennis is not your sport, the resort offers a full-service fitness center, in addition to 20 other sports.

The five-star Melia Cabo Real, located in Cabo San Lucas, not only caters to both adults and children, but children under 12 years old stay free. Within their all-inclusive plan, all meals and snacks are included as well as non-motorized sports. All cocktails and drinks are also included, as well as tips and gratuities.
