All Inclusive Bungalow Resorts in Mexico

All-inclusive resorts come in all sizes and shapes, and among them are bungalow resorts, featuring small cottages spread around the grounds. Some offer special packages along with regular rates. With all-inclusive plans, the traveler pays one up-front fee covering room, three meals a day and beverages. Several resorts include other amenities in the package, such as alcoholic beverages, entertainment, activities and beach chairs.

    • Located in Cozumel, Mexico, the 261-room Occidental Allegro is an all-inclusive resort with Polynesian-style two-story bungalows. The Occidental Allegro provides all meals and beverages, including alcoholic drinks, in their program offering. Designed for family vacations, the resort features activities for children, including water parks, games and supervised play areas. Nightly entertainment and adult sporting activities abound. Rates vary according to season and proximity to pool or beach. Packages can be purchased with or without airfare. Cozumel is known for its exquisite reefs, which are well worth exploring, and has been described by some as the top diving destination in the western hemisphere. That makes the optional activities offered by the Occidental Allegro even more appealing, such as excursions to the snorkeling areas, cavern diving or SCUBA diving, all leaving directly from the hotel dock. SCUBA classes are included in the vacation package.

    Xpu-Ha palace

    • The Xpu-Ha Palace, an eco-friendly all-inclusive resort in the Riviera Maya, lies between Cancún and Tulum on Mexico's Caribbean coast. This area is known for its beaches, Mayan ruins and the world's second largest coral reef. All of the 144 bungalows include balconies, double Jacuzzis and hammocks. The rooms are rustic-style with basic furnishings; top-floor rooms are more expensive, but roomier and airier. All rooms are air-conditioned. Guests can bring pets for no extra charge. Located on 37 acres, the resort is in a natural environment surrounded by lush vegetation. Because of this, the area can be mosquito-ridden. The Xpu-Ha Palace offers ecological and kayak tours as part of their all-inclusive package, as well as an an on-site aviary and serpentarium, and a beach within a few yards of the hotel. The concierge can arrange snorkeling and diving trips, deep sea fishing, and trips to Zcaret for swimming with dolphins, although these activities involve an extra fee. Palace Resorts, of which the Xpu-Ha is part, allows guests to use all facilities at other nearby Palace locations, with transportation provided.

    Hotel Eco Paraíso Xixim

    • Although not an all-inclusive resort per se, the Hotel Eco Paraíso Xixim resort near Mérida, Mexico makes it possible for travelers to purchase all-inclusive packages. The packages vary considerably; all include meals and non-alcoholic beverages, and some also include tours. Located in a special biosphere reserve called Ría de Celestún, the hotel is adjacent to the main feeding area of the pink flamingo on a deserted 2.5-mile stretch of beach. Nesting turtles can be viewed from April to July. Only 15 bungalows grace the property, all with netted queen beds, hammocks and large terraces. Three is no air conditioning; the bungalow is cooled by fans and thatched roofs. A yoga facility with twice-daily classes and a gym with massage therapy are available on the grounds. Many tours are offered, including Mayan ruins, visits to the Ría de Celestún and bird-watching. Tours and yoga may or may not be included, depending on the package chosen. Frommer's says that the food is very good and the service is excellent.
