The Coach Inn in neighboring Summerville is the area's newest motel. This two-story complex offers standard rooms and suites, including business suites and Jacuzzi suites. The Econo Lodge in Fort Payne is a motel option 27 miles from Menlo. Although you must cross the state line to get to and from the town, it is still a short trip. Guests at the Econo Lodge can enjoy free continental breakfast and coffee in the lobby as well as free newspapers. The motel has an outdoor pool that is open seasonally and lots of nearby attractions and dining options.
The Waffle House has a location adjacent to the Econo Lodge, and Cracker Barrel is across the street. The Alabama Fan Club, founded by lovers of the country music group Alabama, has its headquarters less than one mile from the motel, and guests are welcome to come by and visit. Cycling, fishing, golf and horseback riding are among the options for those visiting nearby DeSoto State Park, which is a short drive from the Econo Lodge.
Located in Trion, Georgia, just 10 miles from Menlo, the Express Inn offers spacious rooms with cable television and a sofa in a sitting area for total relaxation. Some rooms have a whirlpool tub. All guests receive a complimentary continental breakfast and have easy access to downtown Trion's historic district. The first cotton mill in the area was located here, and the town is known as the "denim capital of the world" because of a large manufacturing plant that operates in town.
If you must have accommodations closer Menlo itself, you will not find any motels. But you can book a night or two in the local bed and breakfast, the only accommodation located very close to town. The Mountain Grove B & B is Cloudland, just three miles north. This inn at Mountain Grove was built in 1919, but it got a facelift in 2000. You may rent the entire five-bedroom inn for large groups or just select a room. The inn sleeps up to 14 people comfortably and includes magnificent views from Lookout Mountain and a peaceful experience you won't find in other nearby towns.
