Motels in Cheyenne, Oklahoma

Cheyenne, Oklahoma, is a town of less than 1,000 residents. The town is adjacent to Black Kettle National Grasslands, a 30,724-acre recreation area named in recognition of a Southern Cheyenne Indian named Peace Chief Black Kettle who, along with his entire village, was killed in 1968 by Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer. Today, Cheyenne offers recreational opportunities that include an 80-acre fishing lake, game hunting and the Metcalfe Museum, an historic homestead with local memorabilia.

    • This 20-room hotel has a full service restaurant featuring daily specials such as chicken fried steak. Management offers a free continental breakfast each day, and can provide guided trip services. All rooms are ADA-compliant and feature air conditioning, heat and a private bath. Management allows pets of any size at no additional charge and does not have breed or weight restrictions. All major credit cards are accepted for payment. This 480-acre property is within 10 miles of Black Kettle National Grasslands, which offers trail rides, mountain bike expeditions and fishing.

    M's Motel

    • M's Motel is just minutes from the Grasslands boundary. This 10-room motel offers a choice of queen or full size beds in addition to free wireless Internet access, in-room coffee and toiletries. All rooms include microwave ovens, refrigerators and 32-inch flat screen plasma televisions with DVD players. Pets are not allowed.

      M's motel is next door to a full-service restaurant specializing in American food such as hamburgers and hot dogs. The manager of M's Motel also owns a restaurant in downtown Cheyenne, called Taste of the West. This restaurant features an open pit barbecue and specializes in a variety of smoked meats including steaks, baby back ribs and chicken fried steak.

    Cheyenne Motel

    • Cheyenne's most centrally located place to stay is the Cheyenne Motel. This 62-room facility is the largest motel in town, and is within walking distance of two convenience stores and three restaurants, including a 1950s-style drive-through hamburger grill. Rooms feature double beds, bathtubs and showers, microwaves, refrigerators and color televisions. There are 40 rooms with doors opening to the outside of the building and 22 rooms accessed through an interior hallway. Management welcomes well-behaved pets at no additional charge.

    Flying W Guest Ranch

    • The Flying W Guest Ranch is a 2,000-acre facility that offers an Old West experience in a frontier town setting. In addition to cabin-style accommodations, the ranch has a full-service restaurant, Sassy's Cafe, open Wednesday through Saturday for dinner and on Sundays for brunch.

      The Flying W has a general store built in the 1880s -- local historians use this location provide details life during that time. Ranch activities include horseback riding excursions, wagon rides and rodeos.

      Management welcomes large groups for special events and weddings. Lodging facilities range from RV sites and teepee camping to cabin rentals. One cabin has an open floor plan with a queen size bed and a full size futon, and features a kitchenette and dining area. The other larger cabin features a separate bedroom with a queen bed, a large futon in the living room and a kitchenette with dining area.
