Motel 6 advertises itself as "America's original pet-friendly motel chain" and both service animals and well-behaved pets are allowed to stay for free. Animals, including service animals, are not permitted if they pose a health or safety risk. All dogs must be declared at check-in. Motel 6 will not service a room with an unattended dog due to safety concerns of the staff. Because rooms are serviced every day or every other day an unattended dog in your room that prevents proper cleaning may cause the motel to ask you to vacate. Should a situation occur that requires you to leave your dog in your room you must secure it in a crate or travel carrier to avoid injury and room damage. Dogs must be leashed or in a secure carrier when taken outside of rooms at all times.
Red Roof Inn welcomes dogs and other pets free of charge at over 345 locations in 36 states. The chain allows one well-behaved dog per room unless prohibited by state law or ordinance. Service animals are always welcome, according to Red Roof's pet policy. You must declare your dog during guest registration and keep your dog on a leash or in a carrier when taken outside of your room. Dogs are not allowed to be left unattended, in consideration of guests and staff.
After booking a reservation with Candlewood Suites the chain asks that you call the property you will be staying at directly with your name or confirmation number and ask them to add your dog to the reservation. Dogs weighing less than 80 pounds are welcome and documentation stating that your dog has had all of the proper vaccinations must be available upon request. Candlewood does charge a fee to your guest account upon check in. As of 2010, the fee is $75 for guests staying one to six nights and $150 for guests staying seven or more nights. You will be accountable for any damage caused to the room by your dog and your room will be inspected prior to checkout. Your dog must be left in a crate or travel carrier if you wish to leave your dog in the room. There are designated walk areas for you and your dog. You must clean up after your dog and it must be on a leash at all times. You may be asked to leave if there are two or more noise complaints about your dog.
