Aurora, Kentucky, Area Motels

The town of Aurora, Kentucky, sits on the bank of Kentucky Lake. Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area separates Kentucky Lake from Lake Barkley. Together, the two make up the largest body of water between the Great Lakes and the Gulf of Mexico. Fishing, camping, boating, hiking, horseback riding and hunting are some of the main attractions in Aurora and the surrounding area.

    • The Early American Motel is on U.S. Highway 68 in Aurora, just minutes from Kentucky Lake. The Brass Lantern, less than a minute away on U.S. Highway 68, serves a variety of entrees, including lobster tail, steak, prime rib, chicken and pork ribs. The Early American is less than 5 minutes from Kenlake State Park, an outdoor recreation destination.

    • Ken Oak Resort, located on U.S. Highway 68 in Aurora, has 27 units consisting of motel rooms, cottages, kitchenettes and mobile homes. The units, some of which accommodate 10 or more people, are tailored towards families and groups. Amenities include a heated outdoor swimming pool, a recreational gaming pavilion, picnic tables and charcoal grills at each cottage, fish-cleaning facilities and electrical hookups for boats at all units. The Willow Pond Catfish Restaurant is less than a minute south of Ken Oak Resort on U.S. Highway 68.

    • Lakeland Resort, located on U.S. Highway 68 in Hardin, only a few minutes from Aurora, has 12 motel rooms, 12 cottages and a two-story "Fisherman's Cabin." The cottages and Fisherman's Cabin are equipped with stoves, full-size refrigerators and kitchen utensils, including pots and pans. Lakeland Resort is about a minute from Aurora B-B-Q and 5 minutes from Kaylee's Farmhouse Restaurant, which serves breakfast.
