How to Rent a Disney Timeshare

Disney owns timeshare resorts in Florida, South Carolina and California that are available for rent to members of the Disney Vacation Club as well as non-members. Disney timeshares are rented with the use of DVC points. These points can be purchased directly from Disney and retailers. However, it is much more cost-effective to rent DVC points from DVC members. The price per point through retail is set firm. The price to rent points from a DVC member varies and is usually much cheaper.

Instructions

Visit the Walt Disney World information site's DVC point calculator. Enter your "Check in" and "Check out" dates. Choose the resort you would like to stay at and select the room type. Click the "Review or Compare Resorts" button. The site will calculate the number of points required for your chosen timeshare.

Find Disney Vacation Club members who have points for rent. Sites such as Mouseowners.com and DISboards.com have forums that allow DVC members to post their points for rent. When you find someone with points that match your needs, send the person a message to initiate the transaction. If the person confirms that he will hold the points for you, you will need to send the dates of your vacation, the resort you prefer and complete the monetary transaction.

Ask the DVC owner to send you the rental confirmation number as quickly as possible. While the confirmation information is provided by the DVC Member Services, it will be sent to the DVC owner rather then to you. The rental confirmation should have your name on it.
