While Destin might not be as well known as other tourist-centered cities in Florida, it has an incredible coastline that is dotted with an array of accommodations. Destin has three distinct seaside areas. They include Destin Harbor, Holiday Isle, and Crystal and Miramar Beach. Each of the areas has its own diverse lodging options that range from beach homes and cottages to condominiums and luxury resorts.
Located in the Florida panhandle, Destin is world famous for its impeccable white sand beaches, emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico and bountiful fishing. Although Destin is a resort destination, its small town charm remains untouched.
In the western part of the city is Destin Harbor, where visitors have their choice of luxury resorts with incredible views of the Gulf of Mexico, East Pass and Destin Harbor. Among them are the Emerald Grand and Inn on the Destin Harbor.
Away from the bustle of downtown Destin, the Destin Harbor area is a place to relax, walk the docks and enjoy the sights of fishing boats coming in and out daily.
Holiday Isle, which is located in downtown Destin, has some private beach homes to rent, but is mainly dotted with high-rise, beachfront condominiums to accommodate the many guests who want to stay within the heart of the city. There's no need to give up waterfront views when staying in downtown Destin because much of the downtown is located on beachfront.
When you stay in downtown Destin and Holiday Isle, your accommodations are close to the city's water park and outlet shopping center as well as to many of Destin's golf courses.
Some places to stay on the beach in downtown Destin are beachfront condominiums like Sundestin, Silver Beach Towers, Sterling Sands and Pelican Beach. On Holiday Isle, there's Destin on the Gulf and Harbor Landing.
Located on the eastern side of Destin are the seaside communities of Crystal Beach and Miramar Beach. In Crystal Beach, accommodations include beach cottages and beach homes to rent, such as Casa Bella, Papaya and Sea Shells. There are also several two-level condominium complexes on the waterfront, such as Caribbean Dunes and Crystal Villas.
Miramar Beach is one of the most developed beachfronts in Destin, so it has a large variety of high-rise condominiums and five-star resort hotels. Among the places to stay on the beach in the Miramar Beach area are condominiums such as the Cabana Club, Ariel Dunes, Beach Villas at Destiny, Edgewater, Majestic Sun and the Amalfi Coast Resort. There are also beach homes such as the Beach House and Beach Peach.
