Just 90 minutes south of Las Vegas at the southern tip of Nevada, the town of Laughlin, Nevada attracts millions of visitors annually. Laughlin, on the bank of the Colorado River, was established in the 1940s as the town of South Pointe, with only a motel and bar that served the construction workers from nearby Davis Dam. After the dam was finished the town deteriorated, until Don Laughlin purchased the property in 1964 and the town's name was changed to Laughlin. Established in 1966, Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino is the oldest hotel and casino in Laughlin. The hotel has more than 1,400 guest rooms equipped with either two queen-sized or one king-sized bed and cable television. Some rooms overlook the Colorado River, while others have a view of the nearby desert mountains. Guest rooms on the Executive level offer a king-sized bed, plasma screen television with cable, refrigerator, sitting room and balcony overlooking the river. Hotel amenities include two swimming pools, a jacuzzi, and meeting and banquet rooms. Also located at the property are a salon, wedding chapel, several restaurants and night clubs, movie theater, bowling center, and arcade. The Aquarius Casino Resort is a recently renovated 18-story hotel with a separate tower providing accommodations for guests 18 years of age and older. The hotel offers more than 1,900 guest rooms, from luxury rooms to executive suites. All rooms feature either one king- or two queen-sized beds, Internet access and cable television. Suites can include additional furniture, refrigerator, wet bar and work area. All rooms have either a view of the Colorado River or the nearby mountains. Rooms feature one king-sized or two double beds, custom nightstands, breakfast table and chairs. Suites have a bedroom, separate living and dining room with a wet bar, and a jacuzzi.
