Resorts in Primm, Nevada

If you need a break from the crowded atmosphere of downtown Las Vegas or the famed Las Vegas Strip, consider staying along the Nevada/California border in Primm. About 40 miles south of Vegas along Interstate 15, you can have just as much fun in Primm without the crowds and high prices. (Translation: More money to gamble.) Stay at one of the three resorts, all owned by Terrible's, that make up this tiny desert town.

  1. Buffalo Bill's Resort and Casino

    • For the thrill-seeker in you, take the plunge on the Desperado, one of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world, located at Buffalo Bill's. Just do not stuff yourself silly at Miss Ashley's Boarding House Buffet beforehand; with a large variety of home-cooked food, you don't want to lose that grub on the Desperado. (Same goes for the ribs at Tony Roma's.) Bring the family to the Attraction Zone Arcade or on one of the several rides in addition to the Desperado. Hang out at Buffalo Bill's Stage Bar to kick back with a few drinks while taking in some of the area's bands and lounge acts. Of course, if you want to gamble, Buffalo Bill's has you covered. Check out Buffalo Bill's Poker Room for a round of Texas Hold 'Em.

If you actually want to sleep, choose from either the comfortable Deluxe Room or Jacuzzi Suite that includes color TVs, coffee makers, iron and ironing board and refrigerators. Relax by the buffalo-shaped pool while catching a few desert rays.

    Primm Valley Resort and Casino

    • This smaller hotel has more of an elegant country club vibe, for a more relaxed feel. Chill out at the Piano Bar and enjoy an evening of martinis and piano music, or head into the casino, with more than 1500 slot machines, a keno lounge and a race and sports book, for those into gambling. Stay the night in a deluxe guest room, 1- or 2-bedroom suite or Jacuzzi suite. Fill up at one of the three on-site restaurants: GP's, The Gallery Café and The Greens Buffet. GP's, Primm Valley Resort & Casino's fine dining option, offers American and European fare with a 1930's country club atmosphere. During the day, spoil yourself with a massage or facial at The Spa at Primm, which has a casual atmosphere and affordable prices. Take advantage of the award-winning Primm Valley Golf Club for some quality desert tee-time.

    Whiskey Pete's Resort and Casino

    • Known as the "Castle in the Desert," this 777-room, two-tower resort and casino was named after Whiskey Pete, a local bootlegger who died in 1933. Legend claims he wanted to be buried standing upright with a bottle of bootleg so he could keep an eye out over the area. Located across from Buffalo Bill's and Primm Valley, you are never far from the action at these two resorts; there is a free shuttle that transports guests back and forth. Choose from a Deluxe Room, Jacuzzi Suite or Mini Suite. Mini suites are 600 square feet and have a two-person oval tub with spa jets to relax after a long night gambling in the on-site casino. Enjoy time in the sun while sliding down the pool's water slide. If you have extra money to burn, head across the way to the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas or get a drink at Whiskey Pete's Show Bar. The Wagon Wheel Buffet offers filling foods to keep you going.
