How to Find Lodging Near Military Bases

Members of the military transfer frequently, called a Permanent Change of Station (PCS), and each new duty station that takes members and their families to a new area requires changing homes. Sometimes, neither permanent on-base housing (quarters) nor permanent off-base housing is immediately available, and temporary base lodging facilities are also full. When that happens, families need to find temporary lodging at a hotel near the base, so that the member and family have a place to stay while awaiting permanent housing, either on- or off-base.

Go online to military-hotels.us. It has an extensive listing of both base temporary lodging facilities and hotels near military bases, for all bases and military services nationwide.

Go online to pcs-lodging.com if you're unable to find what you need on military-hotels.us. This site has an extensive listing of hotels near military bases for members on PCS orders.

Try individual hotel web sites if you can't find anything on military-hotels.com or pcs-lodging.com or if you found a hotel but want to check to make sure you have the lowest price for your room(s). When you check the reservation section for rates, select the government/military rates to compare with the rate you've received. They'll probably be the same, but if you can even save $10 a night for a lengthy stay in a hotel, it adds up. You only need to show your military identification to qualify for these rates.
