How to Ship to Hotels

Anyone can ship to a hotel. Whether it's luggage or a new pair of designer shoes you just have to have on vacation, your hotel has no issue accepting shipments or mail in your name, provided you have a reservation on record with the hotel. The hotel will hold your package for you until you arrive or they will notify you when it arrives if you are already in residence.

Visit your local post office or package shipping service to ship something ahead to your hotel. If you haven't already packaged your items, you can purchase a box at the post office that will fit your items and protect them during shipping.

Place your return address and shipping address on your package. Your return address goes on the top left-hand corner of your package and should follow this format:

      Your Name

      Your home address

Your city, state and postal code

Your shipping address goes in the middle of the package in the following format:

      Your Name

      C/O Your Hotel Name

      Hotel Address

Hotel city, state and zip code

      Your check-in date

Pay for shipping. Post offices and shipping stores accept cash and credit cards -- some accept personal checks. Choose a method of shipping that correlates with your arrival dates and stay at your hotel. If you make the mistake of choosing a slow method of shipping, you run the risk of your package being delivered after your stay at the hotel has ended.
