Serenity Falls, less than four hours east of Knoxville, offers lodging in four cabins, which are the renovated 1900s general store, cow barn, tobacco barn and grist mill that once stood on the property. The different cabins can sleep two to six people and each offer fully equipped kitchens, bed linens and central heat and air conditioning.

      Serenity Falls borders the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and is less than a half hour from the attractions of both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

    Honeymoon Hills

    • For creek-side cabins with a touch of romance, try the Honeymoon Hills cabins in Gatlinburg. Honeymoon Hills, less than a half hour southwest of Cosby, primarily offers honeymoon cabins that are for couples only. Several of these cabins are situated alongside the calm creek, such as "Bear Footin'," "Lazy Days" and "Splash Happy." However, the "Little Women" cabin can sleep four. The cabins feature a private patio or deck, fully equipped kitchenette, television with DVD player, gas fireplace and a king or queen-size bed. Unwind in the jacuzzi, which is heart-shaped and built for two.

      Honeymoon Hills' cabins may be private and situated among the 10 acres of the property, but the attractions of downtown Gatlinburg are less than four miles away. No pets are allowed and there is at least a two-night minimum for reservations.

    Turtle Creek Cabin

    • Fall asleep to the sound of the water running over the waterfall and into the creek at the Turtle Creek Cabins in Turtletown, less than three hours south of Gatlinburg. Spend time in the "Waterfall Cabin," which has a view of the waterfall. The cabin has air conditioning, satellite television, fully equipped kitchen, bed and bath linens, and can accommodate six people. You can also choose the "Log Cabin," whose balcony overlooks the creek. The cabin has air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, bed and bath linens, and can accommodate 12 people.

      The cabins, located in Tennessee's southeast corner, offer many nearby recreational opportunities. Hike in one of the three nearby national forests, kayak, raft or fish in one of the five local rivers or simply swim in Turtle Creek Cabins' private section of Turtle Creek.
