Clements Canoes Outdoor Center is located in Waveland, Ind., (Montgomery County), 42 miles from Lafayette. Clements Canoes offers one-room camping cabins that feature electricity, air-conditioning and sleeping areas, as well as screened porches, charcoal grills, fire rings and picnic tables. The Canyon Camp Cabins sleep eight people and require a short walk to restrooms and showers, while the Log Cabins sleep up to six people and have private bathrooms. All cabins have a view of Sugar Creek. A rental chalet and tent camping are also available, and the resort offers canoe and kayak rentals, modern restrooms and shower facilities, and a camp store. Sugar Creek has excellent fishing, especially for small-mouth bass. The town of Waveland has a small grocery store and a pizzeria. Within 15 miles, guests can find restaurants, shopping, laundry facilities and banks, as well as museums, antique stores, swimming pool and golfing. Several area state parks and 32 covered bridges are within driving distance.

Located 20 miles from Lafayette in White County, the Camp Tecumseh YMCA offers 46 year-round heated cabins; each sleeps 14 to 15 people dorm-style with a large, open room and built-in bunk beds. Attached bathrooms exist in each cabin, including both restroom and shower facilities, and cabins are located near dining facilities and meeting rooms. Many activities are available for weekend guests, including four rock-climbing walls, two archery ranges and .22-caliber rifle range, as well as tennis courts and two basketball courts. Other activities include trail rides through a pine forest plus fishing, canoeing and paddle boating on the Richard G. Marsh Lake. Guests may also explore the nature center exhibits and the mini-farm with its alpacas and other farm animals. The town of Brookston offers a laundry facility, restaurants and shopping.
