Raccoon Lake, also known as Cecil M. Harden Lake, is a park located in Rockville, Indiana located roughly 60 miles west of Indianapolis. Featuring beautiful scenery and a wide variety of activities, it is a popular place for family vacations. Special activities held here during the year include a youth fishing derby and a big 4th of July beach bash. If you want to make more than a day trip out of it, you'll need a place to stay.     Up the Creek

    • If you are on a tight budget or just looking to rough it, you can rent one of these cheap, one room camping cabins a few miles down the road. While less modern then other options, these cabins have electricity, a bed and a picnic area, complete with a fire ring located right outside their door. There are shared bathroom facilities located nearby. The price can't be beat, but if you do decide to rent one, make sure you bring your own bedding.
