What kind of license do you need to drive an RV class A in Virginia?

A Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) is required to drive a recreational vehicle (RV) with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, or any RV that is designed to tow a vehicle with a GVWR of more than 10,000 pounds.

To obtain a Class A CDL in Virginia, you must:

- Be at least 18 years old.

- Pass a vision test.

- Pass a written knowledge test.

- Pass a driving skills test.

You may also be required to take a physical exam and submit fingerprints for a background check.

Once you have obtained your Class A CDL, you will be required to renew it every four years. You will also need to maintain a good driving record and keep up with any continuing education requirements.
