RV Parks in White River, Arkansas

White River National Wildlife Refuge is located in southeastern Arkansas where the White River meets the Mississippi River. Established in 1935 to protect migrating birds, the refuge is nearly 100 miles long and is home to forests and 300 lakes. It is also a prime spot for fishing, hiking and camping. If you are traveling through Arkansas with your RV, consider staying in one of the RV parks near the borders of the refuge.
  1. Merrisach Park

The campground is open year-round and there are four picnic shelters you can rent for large groups from the beginning to March until the end of August. This small park offers only 20 campsites. 16 sites have electric, water and sewer hookups, while the other four have electric and water only. As of 2010, sites at Camper's Refuge cost $20 per night or $300 per month. The Camper's Refuge offers its guests complete privacy; its 20 sites are scattered over 65 acres. Reservations are required and must be made at least two weeks in advance. The campground is on the site of the Civilian Conservation Corps campsite that was built in 1935.

    Pat Kelley RV Park

    • Located a little further away, northeast of the refuge in the town of West Helena, is the Pat Kelley RV Park. The campground offers both 75-foot and 85-foot concrete slab pull-through sites. All sites have water and sewer hook-ups, and you can choose between 30- and 50-amp electrical service. As of 2010, Pat Kelley RV Park charges $20 per night, $115 per week or $375 per month. Unlike the other parks, this one is located in a town, near the Thompson-Robbins Airport. It will also give you easy access to St. Francis National Forest and Storm Creek Lake.
