Bay Side RV Park is located in Palacios, about 30 miles west of Matagorda. The park has 78 campsites, 52 of which are located on the waterfront. All sites are equipped with full hookups, including 30/50-amp electric. Bay Side RV Park also has bathrooms, laundry facilities, a recreation hall, and WiFi. Fishing is a popular activity at the park, and a private jetty and pier are available. A boat ramp is not provided on site, but there is one nearby.

Matagorda Bay RV Park can accommodate all types of travelers. The campground itself is part of the 1,600-acre Matagorda Nature Park. The RV park is on the Gulf at the mouth of the Colorado River and features over 70 sites. All sites have full hookups and concrete pads. Wildlife watching is a popular activity, as is fishing. There are three fishing piers that feature cleaning stations; two on the river channel and one on the Gulf. Matagorda Bay RV Park also features a convenience store and laundry facilities.

Sea Bird RV Park is located in downtown Matagorda, and features 21 RV sites (some of which are pull-through) with full hookups, including 30/50-amp electric. The RV sites at the park are not paved, and neither are the interior roads. There is nearby beach access, and fishing is a popular activity among those who stay at the park. Sea Bird RV Park offers daily, weekly and monthly rental packages.
