RV Parks in Medora, North Dakota

Medora, North Dakota, is a town steeped in history. You can experience both the vast landscape of Badlands National Park and the attractions Medora has to offer on your visit to the area. Whether it's shopping at one of the many antique stores, touring one of the rustic ranches or visiting a local saloon, cafe or restaurant, you can find activities for the entire family.
  1. Red Trail Campground

    • Red Trail Campground offers on-site modern showers, restrooms and laundry facilities as well as free Wi-Fi, tables and charcoal grills at every site.

      The park features 100 sites with a minimum of 30-amp electrical service as well as several sites that offer water and sewer. The campground store stocks ice cream, frozen food products, various beverages, postcards and other souvenirs. Red Trail provides not only a comfortable camping experience, but also you can enjoy live country western music with Vern and Rita Davis, who perform nightly.

      This pet-friendly park is open May 15 through Sept. 30.

    Medora Campground

    • The Medora Campground, located on the west side of town, and it offers more than 200 sites with either 20-, 30- or 50-amp electrical service.

      The park features two shower buildings, laundry facilities, a convenience store and is also located next to the Medora community tennis courts and swimming pool.

      Open Memorial Day weekend through late September, the park is a short distance from historic downtown Medora and all of the history and entertainment the area has to offer.

    Theodore Roosevelt National Park

    • Theodore Roosevelt offers the Cottonwood and Juniper Campgrounds, which are open year-round and can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs, although no hookups are available.

      Sites are all available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a group campsite available for reservations on both campgrounds. Although both campgrounds offer flush toilets during the main visitor season and pit toilets the remainder of the year, there are no showers on site.

      The Juniper campground does offer a dump station, but visitors staying in Cottonwood must use the community dump station located in Medora.

      Campers can enjoy guided tours, biking, canoeing and kayaking as well as fishing, hiking and horseback riding. The visitor centers provide educational opportunities for guests including audio/visual programs.
