Fantasy Lake Water Park is in Hope Mills, approximately 20 minutes south of Fayetteville, and features Fantasy Lake, a six-acre man-made lake with sugary white beaches. Some of the park's attractions include the Jump Tower, the Master Blaster tube slides and Tarzan and Trapeze Swings, which allow park guests to swing into the water. Fantasy Lake offers food at the Tan Lines Beach Shop and Lakeside Deli. A picnic area and sand volleyball court are available.
Greater Charlotte's Great Wolf Lodge has an 80,000-square-foot indoor water park. Water park rides include Alberta Falls--a four-story inner tube slide--the Fort Mackenzie treehouse structure and Mountain Edge Raceway speed slide. Great Wolf also has an outdoor pool, Raccoon Lagoon with water basketball hoops and water geysers; the pool is open from May through September. Non-water activities include Howl in One miniature golf course and Northern Lights Arcade.
Located in Wilmington, the Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park is an amusement park with a water park on its property. Jungle Rapids water park has the Million Gallon Wavepool, Lazy River, Jungle Rapids Super Bowl inner tube slide and the Side Winder, a half-pipe speed slide. The water park provides the Kiddie Splash pool for children under 8t years old. Other Jungle Rapids attractions include a rock wall, laser tag and Jungle Golf miniature golf course.
The 20-acre Boomerang Bay water park is in the Carowinds amusement area, which is on the North Carolina-South Carolina border. This Australian-themed water park provides rides such as the Bondi Beach wave pool, which is 34,000 square feet, the 1,000-foot Crocodile Run lazy river and Jackaroo Landing, a three-story treehouse structure for children. Guests may rent cabanas from Boomerang Bay; up to six guests may occupy a cabana.
Wet 'n Wild Emerald Pointe is in southern Greensboro, right off Interstate 85. Water park attractions include Dr. Von Dark's Tunnel of Terror vortex slide, Bonzai Pipeline inner tube slide, Daredevil Drop speed slide and Thunder Bay wave pool, which has over 2 million gallons of water. Wet 'n Wild hosts birthday parties and picnic gatherings; catering is available for these events. Live music concerts occur at Wet 'n Wild for Bubbalympics and Christian Youth Day festivals.
