What is ecological footprint?

Ecological footprint:

- It measures the amount of biologically productive land and water areas needed to provide the goods and services consumed by a particular human population continuously .

- It includes area required for food, wood products, fibres and fossil fuel generation along with the area required to absorb the waste generated by those activities.

- It signifies how much of nature we demand or use.

- It is generally measured in hectares.
