What was yosemite national park like before john Muir discovered it?

Yosemite was not discovered by John Muir. Native American tribes such as the Miwok and Paiute had been living in the area with the Miwok using Yosemite as a seasonal home for about 3000-4000 years before the arrival of Muir in 1868.
