Can you target shoot in mt hood national forest?

Target shooting is prohibited in the Mount Hood National Forest. According to the Forest Service's website, "Discharging a firearm, air gun, or gas gun is prohibited, except as authorized by the Forest Supervisor or District Ranger." There are a few exceptions to this rule, such as for hunting during the appropriate hunting seasons and for self-defense. However, target shooting is not considered an authorized activity in the forest.
