What are the requirements for domestic partnership in Suffolk County New York?

To register as domestic partners in Suffolk County, New York, you and your partner must meet the following requirements:

* You must be at least 18 years old.

* You must not be married to anyone else.

* You must not be related to your partner by blood or adoption.

* You must live together in Suffolk County.

* You must have a shared financial relationship.

* You must have a commitment to a long-term relationship.

In order to register as domestic partners, you must file a Domestic Partnership Affidavit with the Suffolk County Clerk's Office. The affidavit must be signed by both partners and must include the following information:

* Your full name, date of birth, and address

* Your partner's full name, date of birth, and address

* The date you and your partner began living together

* A description of your shared financial relationship

* A statement of your commitment to a long-term relationship
