Captain Tom's, a Kernersville mainstay since 1972, serves lunch and dinner and features a separate oyster menu. The restaurant has a wide selection of fried, broiled and steamed fish, shrimp, crab, clams, and catfish. Oysters Rockefeller and oysters by the bucket are available from the oyster menu. All dinners are served with salad or slaw and hush puppies. The lunch menu is similar to the dinner menu with the addition of daily fish and shrimp lunch specials. Smitty's Grille, located on South Main Street in Kernersville, opened in 2005 and quickly built a following for its great seafood. Smitty's features nightly specials that include Mussel Mondays, all-you-can-eat snow crab legs on Tuesdays, and fresh fish specials on Fridays and Saturdays. The regular menu offers a variety of steak and seafood combinations, burgers and pasta. Dinners are served with your choice of sides, including french fries, onion rings, coleslaw, rice, steamed vegetables or corn on the cob. Smitty's isn't open for lunch.
The Sagebrush Steakhouse serves traditional steaks and burgers, but also features a grilled seafood menu with salmon, shrimp, catfish and trout. Entrees come with your choice of two side items. Choices include beans, potatoes, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, or salad. The lunch menu offers a selection of sandwiches and burgers, hand-cut sirloin, and barbecue sliders. The Sagebrush of Kernersville is located at 566 Arbor Hill Road.
