How to Order a Free Travel Guide

A travel guide is traditionally a tour guide in book form. Such books are written typically for a single location and provide information on dining, lodging, activities and local attractions. Travel guides are published by government tourist bureaus, hotel chains and resorts and by travel-dedicated publishers such as Frommer's and Fodor's. Some sources will provide their guides for free because they want to promote their location and stimulate tourism.
