Travel Tips to Alaska

Alaska is known for its picturesque scenery, including beautiful beaches and coastlines, mountains, wildlife and glaciers. Whether you are flying or taking a cruise, an Alaskan vacation is sure to be an adventurous, unique and breathtaking experience. Here are a few things to keep in mind before you plan your trip.
    • Although Alaskan temperatures can be extreme, Alaska is not always cold. In fact, the temperatures can reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer. The weather is very unpredictable, as is the geography. Take this into consideration when you are planning the timing of your trip as well as what you are going to pack in your suitcase.

    • It is expensive to go to Alaska. If you are traveling from the United States, airfare can cost upward of $1,000 per person. Cruises can also be pricey. The cost of your trip will vary depending on what time of year you are traveling and what city you are traveling from; but in general, flights in the summer will be more expensive because it is a more popular time for travel.

    • There is a lot more to do than look at glaciers, so plan your itinerary in advance. Planning can actually be difficult to do because Alaska is so large and there are so many things to do and see. Alaska offers a wide array of activities to enjoy including skiing, kayaking, gold mining, whitewater rafting, ATV touring, wildlife viewing, fishing, hiking, boating, and enjoying spas, museums and festivals.
