Check in online. Check into your KLM Flight online as soon as it becomes available, which is 30 hours before your departure time.
Look for upgrade options. If there are seats available, during the online check-in process you will be offered the opportunity to upgrade to World Business Class seat.
Pay for the cost of the World Business Class upgrade. The price will be a reduced rate from the full World Business Fare but depends on where the flight is flying to. Follow the prompts to purchase the upgrade using your credit card.
Log on to your Flying Blue Account. Once logged in you will see the amount of miles you have earned and can search for upgraded seat availability on any flights up to two months prior to departure. Each flight will have different requirements on the amount of miles you will need to upgrade your seat.
Determine the type of ticket you have if you already purchased your ticket. You can use award miles to upgrade to World Business Class only if you purchased a full-fare Economy Class ticket. The amount of miles needed will depend upon where you are traveling and whether the flight is operated by KLM or a partner airline.
Redeem the upgraded seat if you have enough miles. Call KLM Flying Blue Service Centre to make the upgrade request. Your request will be granted if there is availability in a first-come, first-served basis. On select flights day of departure, award upgrades may be available.
