All passengers have the option to upgrade to business class on AirTran when they check in for the flight. This upgrade offers more seat and leg room on the flight, your first and second bag checked for free and complimentary cocktails. You will also have priority boarding and deplaning, meaning you will be on and off the plane before other passengers. The fees for the upgrades range from $49 to $129, depending on the distance of your flight, as of January 2011. Connecting flights upgrades range from $98 to $258, as AirTran charges for each segment. You can also use your A+ rewards credits at a cost of four credits per segment.
