A visit to an indulgent spa can be relaxing for both the mind and body. Italy is home to many five-star spas. According to the Gayot travel guide, some of the best spas in Italy are the Adler Thermae Spa Resort, Hotel Splendido Wellness Centre and the Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort (see Reference 1).
Adler Thermae Spa Resort's motto is “holistic and individual,” as they aim to provide individual treatment in combination with a philosophy of the unity of the body, mind and spirit (see Reference 2). The spa offers ayurveda and Asian treatments with organic spa oils and creams in a variety of packages (see Reference 2). The nine programs, ranging from “maternal bliss” to “for men,” are three- to four-day packages (see Reference 2). Contact the resort or visit the website for current special offers.

Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort's natural spa includes medical staff, diagnostics and checkup, nutrition and consultations (see Reference 4). Some of the consultations include bio-energetic and heart checkups (see Reference 4). The resort also offers spa pools. There are seven of them, including a large pool connected to a smaller one, a water gym pool and even a pool reserved for guests' pets (see Reference 4). One pool uses colors and aromas to create a soothing noise called “liquid sound” (see Reference 4). Information on rates and reservations can be found on Fonteverde's website or by calling the resort.
