Find out the current exchange rate for British pounds and U.S. dollars online (see Resources) or by contacting a bank.
Multiply the exchange rate by the number of pounds you wish to convert. For example, if 1GBP buys $1.6584, then 100 GBP would convert to approximately $165.84.
Keep in mind that the result of your calculation is likely to differ from the sum you will receive from an actual conversion at a local bank.
