    • One of Chaco's trademarks is Monster Kong Nachos, a plate of five nacho varieties, including mesquite beef fajita, picadillo beef, shredded chicken, chicken fajita and pastor pork, according to the restaurant's menu. They are served with queso dip, guacamole and sour cream. The restaurants also serve low-carb and low-fat foods, as well as traditional Mexican favorites and breakfast. Chacho's #5 also offers lunch specials from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.

    • Although both Houston locations serve traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, the chain is best known for its pies, including a few sugar-free varieties. The pie offerings range from apple to Texas pecan fudge and Bayou Goo, which has a pecan crust covered in sweet cream cheese and a layer of vanilla custard swirled with chocolate chunks--all topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, according to the House of Pies menu.     Katz's Deli & Bar

    • In addition to matzo ball soup, Katz's serves up a variety of other Jewish Kosher--style foods, including a foot-long hot dog loaded with sauerkraut and knockwurst, and served on a bun. The menu also includes several sandwiches, such as corned beef, pastrami, turkey breast and Swiss, plus a regular Reuben and a vegetarian Reuben. Dinner offerings include steak, pot roast and fried chicken.     Biba's One's A Meal Greek Restaurant

    • This restaurant serves traditional Greek favorites, as well as steak, spaghetti, pizzas and burgers. Greek dishes range from stuffed grape leaves and spanakopita to kebabs and mousaka. One's A Meal also serves gyros and "kalzones." The breakfast menu features eight different omelets, ranging from plain to Spanish, and includes a Greek omelet made of three eggs, feta cheese, chopped bell pepper and chopped tomatoes.     Ruchi's Taquiera

    • This local chain began in 1985 and has nine locations throughout Houston. Ruchi's offers full bar service at some locations, as well as free wireless Internet access. Some locations also feature live music. Ruchi's menu is extensive, beginning with breakfast, which includes huevos rancheros, huevos con jamon and huevos a la Mexicana. Appetizers range from Buffalo wings to queso flameado con camaron (melted cheese with shrimp). Other traditional Mexican dishes also are on the menu: fajitas, tacos, enchiladas and quesadillas.     Spanish Flowers

    • A popular spot for the late-night party crowd, Spanish Flowers is open 24/7 except for Tuesdays, when it closes at 9 p.m. and reopens at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The restaurant features authentic and traditional Tex-Mex favorites, including lengua (beef tongue), menudo soup and pollo en mole, as well as enchiladas, tacos and fajitas, according to the Spanish Flowers website. Quail and cabrito (goat) also are available. The breakfast menu ranges from jalapeno sausage and eggs to breakfast enchiladas to mango pancakes. Spanish Flowers has a full bar, plus live music Sunday through Thursday.

    Steak and Shake

    • Known for its Steakburger and hand-dipped milkshakes, the Steak and Shake chain began in Illinois in 1934. There are 10 different Steakburgers, ranging from the Original (double meat and cheese) to the Triple, and from Spicy Chipotle to Guacamole to Grilled Portobello 'N Swiss or Western BBQ 'N Bacon.
