Scout golf cart rental business locations close to where you'll stay on the island. There will be several within walking distance if you are staying in Avalon. Two Harbors, the other main lodging area on the island, is only ¼ square mile, so there is no need to rent a golf cart. The concierge at any hotel can also help you find one.

Compare prices at the businesses within your preferred walking distance. Special rates are usually offered. Most businesses offer four and six passenger carts. Rentals are by the hour with a two hour limit.

    • 3

Select a business based upon location, price and policies. For the most part, the policies will be the same. You must be at least 25 years old with a valid driver's license to rent a golf cart on Catalina. Most of these businesses accept cash only.

Visit the golf cart rental business you have chosen. You will complete paperwork, show them your driver's license and leave a deposit.

Go for a spin in your rental golf cart. It is a good idea to drive it around town to get used to the vehicle before venturing further out.

Return your golf cart on time and thank the rental business for the opportunity to explore their island at speeds of up to 15 miles per hour.
