Do amusement parks use a special kind of wood for their wooden roller coasters?

Wooden roller coasters, while made primarily of wood, typically utilize a combination of different types of wood including Douglas fir, Southern yellow pine, hemlock, redwood, and cypress. Each type of wood possesses distinct properties that make them suitable for the specific structural components of the coaster (i.e.: track supports, rails, ties, etc.). While these woods commonly used might be found outside of the amusement park context, wood used for roller coasters may undergo specialized treatment processes such as pressure-treating or lamination to improve durability and structural integrity.
