List of Rides at Disneyland in California

Disneyland opened its doors in Anaheim, California, in 1955. The park is divided into eight themed lands, with each featuring various rides, shops, restaurants and attractions. Some rides have restrictions on who can participate, such as women who may be pregnant, passengers with a history of heart conditions, high blood pressure or motion sickness, or those with back and neck problems.
  1. Main Street

    • Disneyland's Main Street area, situated at the park's entrance, primarily features shops and restaurants. A handful of rides originates on Main Street, including the Disneyland Railroad, which travels throughout the park, and a variety of vehicles, including vintage cars and a horse-drawn streetcar.

    Frontierland

    • Boasting an Old West and pioneer theme, Frontierland features the Rivers of America, a winding waterway with various vessels, including the Mark Twain Riverboat, the Sailing Ship Columbia and Davy Crockett's explorer canoes. Frontierland also includes Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, a runaway train thrill ride.

    New Orleans Square

    • New Orleans Square has two major attractions: the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. Guests first walk through the ghostly halls of the Haunted Mansion before being loaded into moving buggies that transport them through various haunted rooms. Pirates of the Caribbean offers a leisurely boat ride while highlighting the adventures of 19th-century pirates who pillage small towns.

    Critter Country

    • Disneyland's Critter Country region has Splash Mountain, a log flume ride capped off by a five-story dip. The combined indoor/outdoor attraction follows the tale of the characters featured in the Disney film "Song of the South." Critter Country also offers the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, an indoor ride geared toward children that focuses on the lives of Pooh and his friends.

    Mickey's Toontown

    • Mickey's Toontown offers a cartoon world come to life with abstract architecture and set pieces throughout the area. Patterned after the film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin features an indoor adventure with passengers controlling the direction and spinning power of the ride's car. Gadget's Go Coaster reaches speeds of 22 miles per hour and includes dips and sharp turns.

    Fantasyland

    • Fantasyland includes scores of dark rides, or indoor excursions, such as Snow White's Scary Adventures, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, Peter Pan's Flight, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and Alice in Wonderland. Fantasyland also features the King Arthur Carousel, the Storybook Land Canal Boats and the Casey Jr. Circus Train ride. The Matterhorn Bobsleds, a high-speed roller coaster ride, offers twisting turns throughout a 147-foot-tall mountain. Finally, It's A Small World provides a boat ride through an international montage of singing dolls.

    Tomorrowland

    • Tomorrowland features a variety of rides with futuristic themes, including Star Tours, a motion simulator ride patterned after the "Star Wars" films, and Space Mountain, an indoor roller coaster ride hurling passengers through the darkened galaxy. The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage sends guests on an underwater adventure, and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters offers an interactive experience combining a dark ride setting with the capabilities of an arcade shooting gallery.

    Adventureland

    • The rugged region known as Adventureland contains the Jungle Cruise, a boat ride through swamp lands and highlighted by animatronic animals and a wisecracking tour guide. On the Indian Jones Adventure, guests embark on a bumpy and high-speed indoor jeep ride as the iconic film character navigates passengers away from dangerous situations.
